Flap holster for GP 100

Working on a flap holster design for the GP's based on military 1911 holsters.
( that is a left handed 1911 holster) Need to make the flap a little bigger on the next one.

I like flap holsters a lot, especially for carry or hunting guns while navigating thick brush.

Best if that flap is REALLY stout and closes really positively so the gun won't fall out even if you "go inverted" It's real nice to still have your big blue friend with you at the end of the aerobatics!

How do I know this? Here's a hint: "whiteout"dense tule fog and a deer trail about one fawn azz wide down in the Snake River Breaks. (And it's not the last time I performed an inverted loop without benefit of aircraft....).

Ditto! Unfortunately, it can be tough to find a flap holster made specifically for some guns. On occasion, I've been able to adapt a flap holster made for one gun, to fit another - a few years ago, I figured out that a 4" Dan Wesson .357 fit nicely in a Tokarev flap holster I happened to have, with a short extension added to the strap that kept the flap closed. The pouch for the spare mag even had enough room for a speed strip full of wadcutters...

I do other GP100 holsters too and a lot of 1911's. Never owned a 1911 just easy pistol to make holsters for.

I also like full-flap leather holsters---my Old Model Flattop 44 mag (barrel cut back to 4 3/4" by a previous owner) rides in an old original Ruger flap holster---my Colt SAA 44 Special 4 3/4" is carried in a custom made flap holster by my old friend Gordon Davis (RIP) and my Freedom Arms 454 Casull 4 3/4" also rides in another flap holster custom made by Gordon Davis---yeah, I like flap holsters and short barrel single-actions... I also have a fabric flap holster for a Browning Hi Power made by a company called Assault Systems...
