I thought I would take a break from posting airplane stuff and post Gun stuff. After all this is a gun site.
Well I decided to do a little work on the 44WCF 1866 Uberti that I bought awhile back.
I removed all the finish on the stock and forearm and refinished with True Oil, after sanding out all the dings. Next was to take off the bluing from the steel parts. I then draw filed all the dents out of the barrel. It looked like the previous owner used a claw hammer to install the front sight. :roll: He missed a whole lot and left dents. I just hope he hit his thumb. Serves him right. :evil: Once everything was cleaned and polished I did a Rust Brown on the parts. I don't have the stuff to do a hot blue. I also polished out the Brass parts. Now for the inside. Polished parts, replaced the stock toggle links with a short toggle stroke kit, and replaced stock springs along with thinning down the main spring. Now it takes ONE Finger to cycle it. The way it should be :roll:
Since It is a Black Powder Rifle, now I don't have to worry about rust. What can rust already is rusted. :lol: :lol: Just have to keep the brass polished
