I'm currently working on a few holsters that I want to carve a bit on... I'm no leather carver, but I'd like to get better. I'm looking for a very simple leaf pattern like in the "vintage" holster shown.. the pics I'm pulling up are not good enough for me to turn into vectors on my laptop...
If anyone has a good straight on pic of a similar style I could use as inspiration to make a vector on my computer, that would be cool... I'm making a holster for that little savage 1907 I own and a rig for my colt police positive, and I want them to be more than just border stamped.....
thanks much!!

I'm not sure if this will help, but it's the only "carved" holster I have....actually, it belongs to my wife.....Hope it helps:

I actually have the Al Stohlmann holster book from tandy... bought it in 77?.. . but it's in town.. I won't be able to retrieve it until this winter. I've looked at the elk track patterns... nice stuff, tho it will take a while to look at them all!!(y) but I'm looking for more "vintagy", idea's to draw from... partly (mostly), because most of my stamps are also in town....
thanks for all the input.. keep the pics comin!!

p.s. I made big changes to my chest adapter.. it's coming along nicely.. a few more mods and I'll make a real one as I've really cut and cludged the original... (I was really over thinking it)..
