At least for a while, maybe.

This is for a 24" Win 1892 and a 6 1/2" SBH 454.
18.0gr of 2400 and CCI350 primers seems to be the ideal preconception for my situation.

A Lee 452-255-RF mold drops my unknown alloy BHN11 lead at 262gr and after powder coating they get sized to .452".
The 6 1/2" revolver spits them out at 1130fps and the 24" rifle comes out at 1500fps.

A 250gr XTP (45200) comes out of the revolver at 1100fps and the rifle 1440fps.

I guess now I need to devise a way to retrieve some in order to see how they performed, I'm sure these are at the upper limits. Each groups about the same at 50 yards.

I was a little apprehensive about this load in the 1892 but after seeing Buffalo Bore with a 1450fps 260gr JHP, Grizzly with a 1400fps 265gr WFNGC and Doubletap with a 1450fps 255gr Keith SWC listed for use in large frame Rugers (and the like) and also modern 1892 and 1894 rifles figured I woulb be at the bottom edge of +P status.
So I should be good.

I load some hot .45 Colt loads especially for my Ruger Alaskan with 2.5 inch barrel and my Rossi Ranch Hand which is a 300-315 gr. hard cast over 10.4 gr. of Unique.
Speeds are around 940-960 FPS out of the Alaskan and 1150-1170 FPS out of the Rossi with 12 inch barrel. It is a good load that is comfortable to shoot and should take care of most issues.

The M-92 is one of the strongest lever actions out there. "Ruger only" type loads are not a problem. Toggle-link lever actions like the M-73 are much weaker and should only be used at more normal type 45 Colt pressure levels.

"Ruger only" type loads generally top out at around 25-28,000 CUPs, considerably less than the 44 Mag. These include loads such as the one I shoot in all my Colts...BH, RH, and M94 Winchester, which is 23.0 grain of W296. It pushes a 300 grain jacketed, or 320 cast (RCBS "300", nominal weight) at around 1550 from the 16" Trapper M94. These are fine loads which provide excellent penetration when that is needed or wanted.

I've had pretty good accuracy with 20 grains of 2400 with the 250 grain XTP HP bullet - it is a pretty stout load.
17.5 - 18 grains of 2400 also seemed to work pretty well for me with the 265 gn Lasercast lead bullet w/gas check, but I don't buy those anymore.
