I ordered a Ruger Mk IV Competition last week and it should be arriving soon. I'm looking forward to it and I would like to gear it up. I would like to put on some type of optical sight, probably an HS507C-GR-X2; and a larger set of grips. I have long fingers to go with large hands.

I was looking at Volkartsen grips and some of them are quite interesting. I did not the issue with the longer mag release button on the Comp model, and they offer a smaller mag release button to fit. I'm not quite sure how difficult that is to replace. Any thoughts on this or other types of grips are welcome.

My thoughts are shoot it first.
Then decide.
Your needs and likes or dislikes will evolve over a few hundred rounds.

I played with one some at SHOT a few weeks back. That's what prompted me to get one. I did notice the grip was smallish for my hands. I had a Mk 1 over 40 years ago and sold it a long time ago.

I'm looking also at a Holosun HS507COMP-GR to mount on it.

I have a Mk II Competition. The only thing I did was install a Volquartsen trigger. Great little gun!

check out Altamont finger groove grips. I got a set for one of my Buckmarks, great fit and look

I bought the pistol a couple of weeks ago and installed a HoloSUN 507COMP-green on it. using a mount from Lobos Industries. Everything fitted beautifully. I'm following @hittman's excellent suggestion before buying another set of grips. So far, the ones that come on the pistol are fitting my hands better than I remember at SHOT.

I have not had a chance to shoot it yet; life gets in the way but hope to remedy that shortly.

Here are some pictures.
