My 15 yo great nephew finished a fight in HS he did not start. This was in March. He got kicked out of school for the remainder of the year & first 3 weeks of this school year. He was being bullied and they said something about his GF.
I grew up in a housing project, late 50's to late 60's. Kids would walk up to you and ask if you wanted to fight. We also had our share of bullies at school. One in particular was picking a fight with a smaller student, when a much bigger guy walked up, grabbed the bully by the collar and asked him if he would like to take him on. The bully p344ed his pants and backed down. The principal came out and asked them if it was over, "yes" was the reply. Sent the bully home to change pants, shook hands with the big guy and went on. I am by no means advocating fighting, but kids will be kids. I got into several fights in school, most of the time we walked away as friends. Even children get pent up, frustrations, etc. Maybe it was a different world back then, but a little tussle was just a release for some.
I can hear the ultra-libs now................
