Hey guys, after a fun day at the range I wanted to update the sights on my nm 45 colt Blackhawk. I see they offer them for the 357 & 44 but didn't list any for the colt. Are there options for the colt or would one of the hi-viz listed fr the 44 or 357 work? What have you guys done?

If you have a std. blued Blackhawk, the sights aren't removable or replaceable typically. You'd have to use an aftermarket base and have it soldered on or drilled and tapped by a smith. I simply find that it works well to color mine using nail polish confiscated from my daughter. ;)

I use nail polish as well. To me, there is just something morally wrong about putting fiber optics on a single action. Sorry, I'm no help. Just here to heckle.

As noted,, the only replacable front sights on a Blackhawk model are the stainless guns. That's because they have a separate blade piece. The blued ones, as noted are soldered on. And if your 45 is stainless, then any blade designed for the Blackhawk will work.

thanks for the reply guys.I know its wrong to put the fiber optic sights on the blackhawk, maybe I will put them on one of my other "generic" revolvers! The truth is though that I love shooting my colt, and i thought if I could upgrade the front blade maybe I could ring the steel plate more often. I will definitely try and put a little color on the front and see if that does the trick.
