Fender Strat Price Help

Any idea what a 1997 Fender Strat, American made is worth? Condition is definitely used. Head has a sliver/chunk out of bottom of the end, extra hole that looks ugly in the top, left corner of the back, lots of use but no other large damages just has been well used for 10 years or so and shows it. Oh, locking tuners installed and pickups were replaced with I believe EMGs. Color is natural and it has a hard case.

That's hard without pics. "Active" EMG's? I'd rather have the stock pickups. 3 single coils? Was the hole in the back for a strap button? How's the neck? Is the tremolo blocked? Lots of clean MIA Strats out there for $500 or so. $450 ish...?

I paid $599 for my Ensendada Mexicao made Deluxe Blackout Telecaster with three pickups and it is as good of build quality and a better sounding and better playing guitar than the last three Corona guitars I played. I had a 2000 American made Texas Special Strat that was a really nice guitar, I had some special wiring mods done, great gig guitar. I paid $900 for it new and sold it for $1000 with my wiring mods on it
My Tele, I had a push/pull tone pot installed that turns the neck pickup on and off with the other pickups, nice mod, this guitar is a tone machine too.

I have a Squier Stratocaster made for Fender in Mexico( these are the high quality Squires).
It.s a Mark Whopper commemorative.
It has 3 single coil pickups,volume and tone controls and a 5 position switch and a tremolo bar bridge.
The body is candy apple red,maple neck with a ebony fretboard and a rose wood stripe down the back of the neck.
It plays every bit as good as the same American made Fender Whopper Commemorative that cost $3,000.00, but my gutuar cost around $600.00 w/ o a case.
I have a Very nice Stratocaster specific hare fender case for it that cost almost three hundred bucks.
If I had the choice to buy the gutuar your looking at and the one I have, I'd buy the Square.
Just as much guitar for 1/6 the the cost.

BTW I own two electrics, That Squire and a Gibson Corvis II two acoustic/ electric cut away 6 strings, A Yamaha Compass series CPX-8 w/ their per amp/E.Q. with a built in flanger and a Lag T300 DCE w/ their Stuidolag Plus electronics package in it and a Yamaha FG-245-SB drednot 12 string w/ a LL bags duet II electronics package I installed in it and an Ovation 12 string Celebrity Series cutaway CC 045 w/ their OP 20 electronics package in it and wouldn't you know it, the Squire is the only one I don't have a pic of. It's at Depuitydawg house so I cant snap one for you

Everyone,

I am guessing the hole was for a strap and the asking price was $450. I am just looking for a nice original as possible made in America guitar for $500 or so. This one didn't seem to be worth it but I wanted additional input.

The thing about older Fenders and Gibson's just showing a little ware seems to make them even more expensive than ones that look as though they've never been played.
Honestly, you can get a new standard , 3 single coil pickup Strat for around 100 bucks from either Sam Ash or Guitar Center if your budget allows. Their s made in the U.S.A.
and the quality still there and to be honest the quality of the electronics is better than it was in the 70's.
The pickup's will last a lot longer .

I just Checked the Sam Ash wed sight, The American made strat's start at $999.99 ,but that guitar is in that [to me anyway hideous surf blue] then you spend another 200 bucks and the color is up to you .
