That is a very strange song. I remember it and many of the other Jefferson Airplane songs of that era. One of my favorites from back then has the phrase "the human name doesn't mean s--- to a tree". Always thought that was a good line. :D

There are many songs I like and especially enjoy hearing, but I can't say any one is my favorite. The Rolling Stones Can't You Hear Me Knocking comes to mind. I love the sax break in that one as well as their Dead Flowers. Into the Mystic by Van Morrison is another. Love listening to it on a good stereo to follow the bass line. Those are a few of many I always enjoy hearing. Kind of like your kids, I can't name a favorite, but enjoy them for different qualities.

I don't have a favorite group. I have 2 favorite songs of all time--Wild Horses and Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere by Neil Young. Both were recorded in '69. I had the best video of Wild Horses ever saved on my computer and it was removed in the USA :( If you can find the live acoustic studio version recorded in B&W in Tokyo '95, find a way to save it forever. It's that good! I watched it at least 100 x's and now it's gone.

I don't have a favorite group as much as the favorite of the time being which varies about every week, and the song always depends on the week and group. Currently the two are The Allman Brothers At Fillmore East and Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon.

Definitely a most difficult series of questions... After some consideration, I have to answer:

Favorite group - Jethro Tull. I was a classically trained flautist, taking lessons from 1958 through 1962... My last gig was 1975... I still have several flutes, none of which have seen the light of day for 25+ years. I keep thinking one day I may play again... But with emphysema it's unlikely I will.

Favorite song - Impossible to define. I have (literally) thousands of albums, CDs, DVDs, videos and I enjoy everything from classical through country western. The only 'music' I do not tolerate is rap/hip/hop/gangsta crap. Just can't do it. If I threw a dart at a dart board, my favorite song would probably be John Prine's "Hello In There".

Favorite Video - Again, impossible to define. But one of my all time favorite Tull tunes and one of my favorite videos is from the early 1990s of a Tull concert in Instanbul. The tune is Budapest. One of the great Tull works IMO. It has it all... Acoustics, slow start, big middle and huge finish. And of course Ian's flutework at the end of the song is pretty damned good! ;)

As has been noted, a darn near impossible question. That said, if I had to choose a favorite group it would probably be the Moody Blues.

Favorite songs can vary depending on situation, mood, or inspiration. Lately I've been enjoying some old Al Stewart, like "Roads to Moscow" and "On the Border". And the Outlaws "Green Grass and High Tides Forever" whenever I'm out on the highway.
