Email Providers

I have used Verizon email for quite awhile, then they sold out or bought AOL so I was forced there. I really don’t like it but I’m not sure who else to use. It seems like they all sell your information or the websites are bombarded with advertisements that slow everything down. I looked at that Reagan email that has a yearly charge but the reviews are mixed. Does anyone know of a good email provider that is easy to use and is somewhat conservative minded? A lot of them fund anti groups.

I have multiple accounts for different things. My ISP provides one, I also have a gmail and a yahoo account. Of those two I much prefer gmail.

Both yahoo and gmail are free, but I like the apps, like the calendar, that come with gmail over yahoo.

I just dont think you can beat Earthlink.net. Been using them for 15 years now. They do charge $40 per year BUT ---BUT. No spam , no bugs, no junk, no hassle. OCCASIONALLY, you will get a bogus email come through with an attachment but you recognize it right away( FedEx-we are urgently trying to contact you etc or Chase bank log in and update - yea right). At most I get 1-3 pieces of junk a week - sometimes none.
Their spam filters are awesome. You get 4 or 5 email addresses on one account. Just a great service. So far pretty good tech support when needed which is very very infrequently. Course like all of them the techs are probably foreign based but seem to be more "western" when communicating than others

Use GMail, and 'POP' or 'IMAP' the mail to your computer using your own eMail client (ThunderBird, Outlook, etc.)...

This way you have all your mail stored locally, and you can also check your mail from any internet connection online...

Most ISP's "give" you at least one eMail address for "free"...Mine gives me five...

Hi,

I've had both a gmail and a Yahoo account for years, but don't use either very much directly. My main email provider for even more years has been Mail.com, and for $30 a year, they keep the spam under control including some level of virus and malware watching, offer both POP and IMAP services (both feed into Thunderbird), and will forward mail to a number of addresses. That last part used to be sorta exclusive though I think some of the freebies do it now, too. I have them forward everything to both the gmail and Yahoo accounts as back ups in case I go nuts with the delete button and wipe out something I didn't intend to.

I have to admit that the email I have through my ISP sees very little spam, in fact almost none.

My gmail account gets some but if you filter it out as you go it drops pretty low as well.

Nothing I can do seems to help the yahoo account. Then again, the yahoo is my garbage account so that's to be expected.

I gave out on outlook a few years ago. I couldn't get it to work with my ISP email server. They tell me it does now, but I'm in no mood to mess with moving all of my contacts, again.
