The other day, I read that a methamphetamine lab had been found in an
old farm house in a nearby county and asked a buddy of mine a rhetorical
question,
"Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?"

Here is his reply:

I did have a drug problem when I was a kid growing up on the farm.
~ I was drug to church on Sunday morning.
~ I was drug to church for weddings and funerals.
~ I was drug to family reunions and community socials
no matter the weather.
~ I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults.
~ I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed, told a lie, brought
home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the
teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best effort in
everything that was asked of me.
~ I was drug to the kitchen sink if I uttered a profane word. (I DO know
what soap tastes like.)
~ I was drug out to pull weeds in mom's garden and flower beds and mow
the grass, take out the trash and clean up after the family.
~ I was drug to the homes of family, friends, and neighbors to help out
some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, fix their deck, or
chop some fire wood.
~ If my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this
kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed!

Those drugs are still in my veins; and they affect my behavior in
everything I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack
or heroin, and if today's children had this kind of drug problem,
America would be a better place to live.

Being 'drug' to participate(in anything) is unknown these days. It seems modern day parents don't understand the meaning of forcing kids to do something 'for their own good'.

Like in a dog pack! Who is alpha? My father a former DI in WWll was definitely alpha! My mom was a nurse, and had no problem using a whip when needed. America’s parents need to regain control, our future depends on it!

About 1947 my folks visited a family of friends that had just moved to the Ozarks. On Sunday we went to their
church. The Sunday school for us kids was in the choir space behind the preacher who was teaching our folks.
The church was old fashion and even had a horse barn and us boys rode horses to church.
A stupid kid sitting directly in front of me had cranked his head around and kept gawking at me. That was too tempting for my buddy Pete. He busted his nose! Bad for Pete as his dad had a ringside seat. He walked up
the aisle past the preacher and picked up Pete by a ear, walked him out and Pete's feet never touched the floor,
We all could hear Pete getting wailed on for a long time!

We seem (at least as defined by the media) to have a "new" drug problem.

It is called Fentanyl. A synthetic narcotic that is WAY stronger than any of the other narcotics
being "cut" with it. ONE dose can easily kill the user. - - - The media is having a fit. - - -
I say "so what?" Think about it. You have an, at least partially, brain dead individual that
is willing to take something they know NOTHING about, simply to get high.

For to telling me why I should be concerned! These are the people that contribute NOTHING
to our society, and do that on purpose. Once again, why should I care if they decide to
commit suicide?

Sorry . . . . just the conservative side coming out . . . . again.
