Yes, it wasn't long ago. Would still like to get some good notes on when they made that switch to all their Blackhawks.
It is an interesting development anyway. Ruger put the extra collar on that base pin originally to keep the pin from rotating. The original .44 Mags from 1956 to about 1958 did not have the collar, so Ruger added the feature. Seems too many .44's had the base pin fly over the shooters shoulder when a round got touched off. So by keeping the cylinder pin from rotating, Ruger felt it was one more feature (besides the improved latch nut) that kept the pins from disappearing.
