It's already good but I want it best possible. Who out there does the best action job for these?

I see you are in SC.

What are your desires in the action?

I ask because our own member here,, RoninPa is a Ruger DA man. He's the one I would select to do any action work if I were to need any.

And he comes to my "Gathering" each fall in October. If you are in the Upstate,, you could meet him here.

We've spoken via PMs on here. You and I live roughly 30 minutes from one another. I certainly want to attend any gatherings you have regarding Rugers!

I installed an M Carbo trigger kit on my GP 100 about a year ago. It took the double action pull down to 5 lb and the single action mto 3.5 or 4 lb. There is a very helpful y tube video and great instruction sheet. Reasonable price and easy to do.

I believe I have that same kit installed. I haven't tried my trigger pulls though...Give me a few mins

I was taught to have at least a 1000 trigger pulls on new stock revolvers (old Bill of Poway Gunworks was excessive). The use Flitz to polish off the wear marks and pull the trigger for another set and polish off any new wear marks. When the dry fire marathons no longer leave wear marks use Wolff spring kits to tune to your preference......my Security Six took a couple sessions.....my GP100's did not take nearly that much. I know...that's the cave man way.

I liked these comments. I know that we all have different expectations, and I also know that GP100 revolvers will vary significantly out of the box. My 5 inch bbl Stainless GP100 came out of the box with a pretty nice action, but I just wanted to improve on it just a little. A package of Wolff assorted trigger return springs and hammer springs was a pretty good start, and then some hammer shims to center the hammer in the frame, and them thousands of dry-fires, and I could not ask for a better action. Again, I know we have different expectations, but this has fulfilled mine.
