The Ol' weatherman has forecast icing conditions with dangerous driving conditions, downed trees and power lines thru Wednesday. Tuesday (tomorrow) is my normal grocery shopping day, but as I already had my grocery list drawn up I went today around 3:30 p.m. I and about three quarters of the housewives in Memphis.

I'm fixed for the blow. I've got one full half gallon of ice cream, plus a near full one in the freezer and a good supply of coffee on hand.

I’m about 4 hours north of you and we have an inch of sleet on top of a glaze of freezing rain. Hope you don’t lose your power, stay safe and warm Bob.

I keep ice cream and pizza and burgers... coffee and bagels go without saying... never was a milk drinker (could be saving me millions this year :) ).

No snow or ice here yet, albeit we did get a dusting this morning.... the grass and asphalt is still clearly visible.. thank God.

Glad you stocked up on the essentials Bob!

I too went to the grocery store yesterday. People seemed to be panic buying. The store was full of people and their carts heaping with food. Some of the shelves were bare etc. just craziness.

Especially considering Friday and Saturday are supposed to be in the 50’s and 60’s.

Hi, neighbor to the north. I'm about 70 miles due south of Eldorado. We got right at 1/2" of sleet on top of the light skim of freezing rain here.

That has the possibility of putting out the fires and chasing the rioters away for a while....

What I thought when I read Memphis.. I personally would not go out and loot in an Ice Storm.... but then.....

As for the weather... you know the whole on going theme is: "Things are so bad they've never been this bad before!"

Wishing the best and safe and warm for all in the path. Currently it is quite cold in the 20s and freezing rain. It is a relief not to have to get out and not lacking for anything. Got the heat turned on and the wool long johns on.

Stay in the house and hope the power doesn't go out. Hope you have a wood burning fireplace.
Ice cream and coffee. Just need a wee bit of whisky in the cup too.

No wood burning fireplace nor stove, but do have gas floor furnaces and kitchen stove. My coffee maker is electric but I can heat water on my gas stove and pour it through the coffee maker to make coffee. But so far, Thank God, I've had power.

And, no, I'm a deep water Baptist, so no whisky.
