Strangest thing happened in Northern Minnesota last week. It was a weird wet day and an indoor fog rolled into my garage . everything inside was dripping wet. This was with the door closed. So I freaked out and grabbed my hand saws at the end of the day and dried and oiled them. For the last week I've noticed tools hanging on the pegboard are all covered in rust on the top or front exposed side. Things like Channel Lock pliers which are in plated and ball peen hammers and the flat parts of pipe wrenches etc. Even the hinged part of the foot legs on the motorcycles rusted. Basically anything exposed in the garage. My gun smithing vise everything. Never seen a dew- point so high (is that the right word)?. I'm basically wire wheel brushing everything and wiping it down with light oil. Some of these tools are 60 years old and never had seen rust! Arrg!

That don't sound all that unusual to me....Maybe you was getting a Southernly breeze pass through from down here in Mississippi..LOL.

Nope, all my tools get used and are organized on big red tool boards and matching toolboxes. Will have to polish and wd-40 all. Not usual weather for here. Hope to never see it again!

I keep a number of tools on a pegboard in my garage. When it’s been cold then suddenly warms up then I open the garage door dew will sometimes form on the cold metal. I’ve learned to keep the tools lightly oiled, not open the door if possible until the garage warms up and occasionally run a heater to dry things out.

Sorry we messed up and sent you some of our weather... rapid rise in temperature with the normal humidity down here will do that. Our perfectly dry tiled floor on our porch can have a 1/4" of water on it in no time at all ...
