I don't actually know, so I'm asking...but I suspect someone tried to feed me horsepuckey. They claimed that the 7.5 and 10.5 in SBH have a bigger frame than the 4.62 and 5.5. Sure the trigger guard is different, but the grips are the same size, and the cylinder frame that I'm aware of is also the the same.

Even if the guy is right, I get spoiled to the level of experience and knowledge here compared to other forums I visit. Some of the conventional wisdom and "expertise" out there is just retarded.

I believe all the 'new model' Supers and Blackhawks have the same large frame size, with just a few exceptions, like the new Flatops and 44 specials which are on a mid-frame. :D

All variations of the Super Blackhawk use the same cylinder frame size.

The 4 5/8" and 5 1/2" Super Blackhawks have the same size grip frames as the regular Blackhawk. It's the XR3-RED as shown below. But, of course, it's steel not aluminum as on the Blackhawks.

Only the long barreled Supers have the larger Super Blackhawk grip frame. The "Hunter" grip frames are the same size as the Super Blackhawk but with a round back trigger guard instead of the square back one.

So, your horsepucky friend is correct.
