Well, it has been a while since I put anything on lay a way. There is one gun that is calling my name. Got a Dan Wesson .41 Magnum, stainless, 4 inch barrel in at work the other day. Been trying to talk the boss down on it some, but so far no luck. Wants $389 for it. Now, I have owned many a double action revolver, but never a Dan Wesson. It sure seems a well built gun, and I like to have both a double and single action revolver for every caliber I reload for. You guessed it, the only think I don't have is a DA .41 Mag. So, any of you guys have any experience with these? I have heard quality was hit and miss with them, and I would say parts are impossible to get now. What say you?

Years ago I tried to order a stainless Seville in 41 Mag. By the time the order got placed they had gone out of business so I ordered a stainless Dan Wesson pistol pak in 41 Mag instead. It is the one gun I regret gettng rid of. Mine was scarey accurate and I can still remember one evening setting up on the hill above the duck pond when a big old nutria swam out just at dusk. About 70 yards away and once the scope hit him and the 210 grain pill was launched all I could see was flame and a geyser of water and fur. Great gun and if you don't jump on that at that price you are nuts.

I've never owned one. Always thought they were handsome revolvers and appeared to have good fit and finish.

However, I know half a dozen guys who did own them and were tickled to death to get rid of them. All these guys had the ones with multiple barrels and said they were lead spitters and unaccurate. We just had this conversation this morning at coffee.

Local gun store recently had one in a brown brief-case looking piece of luggage with manuals, tools, 3 barrels and 2 or 3 sets of grips. Believe he finally got $400.00 for it.

I have had two Dan Wesson revolvers. 357 and 44. Both were very accurate. I still have the 44. From what I have seen $389 isn't a bad price depending upon condition. Does it come with any extra barrels, aluminum case , grips, sights and the barrel wrench?

I own a 357 with the 2.5, 4, 6 and 8 inch barrels
And I own a 44 with a 2.5 (custom) and 4 inch barrel

Love them, super accurate. And Dan Wesson does not make the gun, they still make the barrels.

Buffalo Bore makes rounds that are Ruger and Dan Wesson only rounds, they handle very heavy loads.

At the end of the revolver era they were king in silhouette shooting

Hi 389 for a .41 Magnum Dan Wesson is a very good deal. Parts and barrels/shrouds are available new from Dan Wesson, as CZ bought Dan Wesson. I believe that service is available from Dan Wesson, but you should email them to be certain. Go to the CZ USA website, and click on the Dan Wesson area. No more revolvers are being made, but Dan Wesson is still making 1911 style pistols, so they still supply the revolver stuff.

If you can get a stainless DW .41 magnum for that price I'd jump on it in a minute! They're going for well over that on any given day! If you don't want it let me know where it is, ok? :D

No, just the gun. Would probably never buy any barrels for it, but would like to have the wrench and feeler gauge just in case.

OK, so far, only one person that does not think they are decent guns. I need another gun like a hole in the head, but if it is still there when I go back to work, think I may just buy it.

My brother has a 44, 357 and 22 and a buddy of mine has a 44. I've shot them all and they are very accurate and super nice guns! It's a shame DW stopped making them before I got mine!

Buy it.... thats a good price!

The tool and feeler guage are still available at Dan Wesson

Well, called the boss this morning and told him to put it on lay a way for me. Got him down to $375. Every time I think I am going to quit buying freaking guns I see another one I think I can't live without. Swore I was just gonna stock up on reloading stuff. Dang it.

I've got a 741. Very accurate revolver. I've got the 4, 6, & 8" barrels. You should enjoy that revolver and I'm jealous of the price you paid. Mine cost considerably more.
