I foolishly bought a Glock 17. It's the only gun that I ever had that broke while shooting it. The recoil spring guide broke in the first box of ammo which locked the whole gun up. I also spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get a decent trigger. Har! I collected a box of springs and connectors (including ones not available to the public at the time) and tried every combination. Trigger always sucked. I sold it to a Marine.

i got a whole box full of them things. don't have to sell to a dumb marine, ,,, i are one. the internet is a great place to learn to polish the connector etc.

I've always looked for that lowest price that gets me a product that does the job. For years I wore Timex watches because they told me what time it was for $20. Now I have a Pulsar. My brother would buy things like Movado but he didn't know the time any better than I do and was still late for things.

Yeah, It just quit working, it dident blow. Had another, p11 comes to mind, tried to take itself down while i shot it, i was told i touched something...i sold it back, said it sure comes apart easy! He says thats why the low price.

Challenge...yeah...most people look at a thing and ask what does it do. Our family looks at it, figures out what it prolly does, then wants to open it up to see how it does it. we're just crazy that way.

i believe it's heredity .all i ever did was fix stuff because my dad bought junk farm machinery. if you gave me a choice of a broken piece of junk or something that worked i'd pick the junk.

The p3at was at typical used-keltec retail at my favourite lgs. The p11 was cheap because one side was rusted from iwb carry, it wasent pretty anymore. i had never heard if a p11 doing its own takedown; the slide popped up and sat at an angle, i made sure it was empty and took it home to clean it without a hitch, but after that i ran across a few stories. Dont touch this-or-that while shooting it, and I say dont touch the entire gun at all, especially the grip, and trigger. No mo killteks fer me!

Back in the day took a lot of Ravens, Davis, Jennings, Bryco, Sterlings off of thugs during apprehensions than actual reputable guns. Then things changed......the thugs feel in love with Glocks.

Just to put the OP at ease.....we didn't wear masks when we thumped the types of scum your heart bleeds for.....

Actually, the Sterling is a high quality pocket .22, with the exception of the pot metal trigger. All steel, and quite reliable once fitted with a custom made trigger.

It's OK....they got it wrong anyways....except the jarhead....imagine that ;)

Actually, the Sterling is a high quality pocket .22, with the exception of the pot metal trigger. All steel, and quite reliable once fitted with a custom made trigger.

The Sterlings we came across often were 380 acp (Mark II?)....the smaller younger thugs would take the grips off and wrap electrical tap or cut up bicycle innertube and wrap around the grip frame.

wow , you are so right never saw an attractive one. they wanted to kick butt and seemed to be of the other persuasion. i can't even remember talking to one . i thought about joining an off base karate dojo. there was a bam that was an instructor there. a hugh gap between her front teeth and a body that would excite a football coach. i saw enough to avoid contact with that. she out ranked me .

where are you ? it shouldn't a problem if you have AAA and are driving the yugo they tow 25 or 30 miles plenty of junk yards in that range

Interesting. I knew more than a few female Marines in college and all were quite nice looking. Maybe things have changed.

FWIW, my Aunt Verda was a Marine in WW II. It really irked my uncle, her husband, also a Marine, that she out ranked him.

Interesting thread. I had a Kel-Tec P-11. It worked fine other than the crappy trigger & the mags wouldn't drop free. I smoothed out the inside of the magwell so mags would drop free, heated the trigger in boiling water & reshaped it & put in a metal magazine catch I got from a guy on KTOG (I messed up the plastic factory magazine catch, my fault). The trigger was still lousy but it was decently accurate & worked just fine.
I had a Heritage Rough Rider .22 revolver. I added the .22 magnum cylinder. I wound up selling it but I never really had a problem with it.
I had a Taurus Millenium Pro PT-111 G2. It worked but I had a strong dislike for the trigger so I found someone else that wanted it & sold it.
There is a difference between inexpensive & junk. I know many here dislike inexpensive polymer framed pistols. Most I have shot have been reliable & accurate. I've never owned a Glock but I do own a cheaper Glock clone. I really like my M&P 2.0.

I had a friend that picked up two 6-packs of Yuenglings while back east, up north. He brought them back on the plane somehow. Supposed to be the oldest running brewery in the USA.
