Corbon 400?

After a session at the range I go dumpster diving in the used brass barrel. Yeah, I am very easy to entertain.
Yesterday I found this case. I had never seen one before so I researched it. I found it to be made by Corbon.
It is a .45 case necked down at 25 degrees to a .40 supposedly to compete with the 10mm.
Corbon has a nice website and evidently they make quite a lot of these.

Has anyone here fired one of these rounds and if so what is your opinion of them?
Also what do they do, take a .45 pistol and install the proper barrel/chamber in .40 cal or is there a pistol made specifically for this round?
I am just curious and there is a lot I do not know about firearms and ammo.
Like I said, never seen one before. Never even knew they existed until I found this.

IT HAS BEEN IN THE MARKETPLACE for seventeen years now. I have a Kimber 1911 400, a Ruger P90 400, and a S&W M745 400 and all three work well and shoot like a champ. BUT, it ain't no 10MM. For the latter I had Hamilton Bowen build a RUGER OM 3-screw 357 into a custom 10MM sixgun that shoots like a lazerbeam out to where you can dangnear see the promised land with good SWARO binos.

I have a barrel for my Ruger KP90, all I do is replace the 45 ACP barrel with the 400 Corbon barrel you use the same magazine for both. I get my brass from Starline or just run 45 ACP brass into the 400 Corbon sizing die. Its a hell of a round shoots good and never had a problem with the function of the KP90. (180gr Hornady xtp and Unique).

It's a stout little round and easy to form. Handloaded it'll push 180's over 1,200 fps.
