Anybody know what the copper pin that came in a little plastic bag with my GP100 is for? Thanks for any info

It is to put in the hammer strut to hold the mainspring back when you take the gun apart. If you take the grips off you can see the mainspring running up and down along the hammer strut. There is a little hole to slip a pin in to hold the spring back so you can take the hammer strut out.

If you have the original grips with the wood inserts the pin is supposed to go under the left wood insert. There is a little groove cut in the rubber to keep it there. :D

Yup, just like Jimbo said but your since your pin cam in a plastic bag that means you have Hogue grips and you'll just need to store the pin in a safe place.

Yep thanks for replies I found it in some searches, I'm sure that's what it is and haven't shot it much since I'm not happy with the rear sights. Now that Bushnell bought out Millett which I used to have on all my handguns in the past the only quality made ones I've found are the Bowen target and rough country sights so I backordered a set of the target style.
