Where the debris meets the sea
I just got a Blackhawk in 357/9mm convertable...it's less than a year old and has the factory black grips. I want to replace the grips and am wondering about "size"...I think this convertable is on the smaller frame (like my Lipsey flat top 44 special) as opposed to something like a 45Colt or 44 mag New Model Blackhawk but I'm not really certain...am I correct or just making things up? Any help as to what grip "model or size" I need to be looking for would be much appreciated..

I had tried several times to get the link to Hamm's article to work and it wouldn't take me there....figured something had happened during the change over to a different server, etc....sorry to have duplicated the question....I'll get it from Hamm's web site directly if I still can't get the link to work...I went to Eagle grips (I think Hamm really thinks they are good grips) and the serial numbers listed on their web site were way off from what these are so I just got confused and posted...again, sorry to have duplicated...I usually can get the links to work but not this time.

I believe anything (non Single Six/Ten of course) with the protective 'ears" will be the large frame--XR3 Red.

Everything that comes with a "Flattop" will be the New Vaquero grip frame (and have a three-digit S/N). All other Blackhawks will have the XR3-RED grip frame.
