So Ruger made the new model grip frames close to the Colt size. Good.

Does anyone make a widget or dingus thingy that will replace the stupid lock on the new models?
I put on one set of Colt grips that I found in the drawer, fairly easy if it were not for that lock. Just move the pin holes and it almost fits. Should be able to remove the lock and replace it with a blank and keep it for who ever would like to have one of those.
I have some nice Colt grips and I don't want to take the chance of ruining them by cutting too much from the center. Some are fairly thin. Just moving the pin holes would mean they could still be used on a Colt.

Been there, done that.

Hmm, aren't Colt grips kinda expensive? I think I'd consult with one of the several Custom Grip Makers here on Ruger Forum prior to modifying a Colt grip......

Yes, they are expensive, but I have 3 sets that I like and have had for years, just laying around. I have ordered from 2 of the makers on the board already.
Wintertime is coming and I get bored. Grips, reloading, polishing, BSing on the boards, etc. mumble, mumble trigger jobs, locating gunsmiths to fix what I work on, etc.
