But what does this mean for us Colt owners? I have a couple of Colt series 80 Mark 4 in stainless steel offices models! I know the price of these things have gone up and down over the years depending on what was going on with Colt I've seen Defenders used granted in great shape as high as twelve hundred bucks. I've seen my model stainless steel offices series 80 in excess of $800 over the years. So will they continuously go up now? What is the average offices series 80 stainless steel going for these days of course it's in great shape! Just a rough guesstimate on where they are now price wise & where they will be going price wise.. curious! As these are the only two Colts I have both the same thanks George

Sounds like good news to me .... it's certainly not NEW news but CZ should do well by the name.

Colt was bought by a real gun company. Egads! Where are the venture capitalists when you need them.

CZ will be a good proprietor of the Colt brand.
Agree.

Makes me wonder what a new in box Colt SAA .44 Spl. 5.5" barrel unfired is worth today. I have the box and all the paperwork as well. Every time I se it I'm tempted to take it out and shoot it but so far have resisted the temptation.

I wish I had kept my Gold Cup I bought for $50. But my BILs story about the gun and the guy I got if from indicated I shouldn't keep it long. My boss was happy to give me $200 for it even knowing the story. He did change the barrel and sand the firing pin and ejector.

I'm taking a long-term approach on this. CZ has done.... things, with Dan Wesson since they bought them. Whether tor not they turn out to be beneficial in the long term remains to be seen. I presume they will do the same .... things, to Colt. Since Colt has essentially been a huge dumpster fire for the past 40 years or so, hopefully this will be a positive thing.

I'd rather see CZ have the product line than see it die altogether. They seem do do nice work.

And any good ol' Murrican company could have bought it . . . all it takes is a plan and the money to accomplish it.

been perusing the gun infurnet for over 15 years and you know I don't think I've ever seen a complaint about CZ's. I remember years ago listening to G. Gordon Liddy on the radio and he would often praise 'his wife's' CZ pistols.

HI,

I dunno if it's still up, but three or four years ago I saw a "factory tour" video of one of CZ's plants (Somewhere I seem to recall a comment they are the world's largest small arms mfr. Maybe???) Anyway, it looked like about every third person was an inspector. Of every part, not just a "grab one and check" sampling mentality.

I've had a 75-B for a number of years, and it took three or four of them to find a Kadet .22 conversion for it. The instructions that came with it said it may require a bit of fitting on the the frame. Well, the "fitting" on that unit consisted of a wipe down, a touch of my regular grease on the rails, and a magazine of "test fire" ammo. That was it!

If CZ applies similar techniques and standards with Colt, the prancing pony may come back better than ever

CZ and Colt are not strangers to one another. Back in the early 2000’s I bought a
CZ40B which was a design collaboration between CZ and Colt. Strange coincidence.
It was a very well made accurate and attractive pistol.
