Collared Lizard on The Osage

Doc's picture of the collared lizard in New mexico reminded me of a pic I have on my phone. Just a phone pic, but shows some good color. This one ran right to the edge of a big brush pile out back, and thought he was hid. I got the phone within 5 feet of him for the shot.

That looks like one that you see hanging from a "roadrunners" mouth. :lol:

Yip. That's what they call em here Sheriff Cottle I'd never heard them called that before I moved back here in 2007. My buddy's dad built the place I live in now as a vacation cabin in the late 50s. My buddy grew up out here and says they used to be all over the place. I've always got a few around, but he says they're pretty thinned out for some reason. I sent a girl I know that pic back the middle of May when I took it and just typed "Mountain Boomer" The reply was "Are you sure? It looks like a lizard to me." WOMEN :!:
