Canted Barrel

Hi. Is a barrel that's canted by about 1/8" on a service six something to be concerned about? Accuracy is fine. Curious if this minor of a twist is something that could affect safety? Any experiences?

Well if it shoots to the sights, it was probably done that way on purpose. Kind of like bending the sight on a Colt SAA to correct for windage.

If it is very noticeable it would bug the yugo out of me, but that's me.

Although it's way-too-common to have a canted barrel on late-model Ruger Single Actions, I have never seen a front sight on a "Six" series revolver canted from the factory. Maybe somebody did it on purpose for personal sight regulation. I would be more concerned that it twisted itself. If so, it's possible that it would continue to do so. So...I would shoot it, with heavy factory loads, and pay close attention to any further movement.

Personally, I could not live with it, and would persue a correct solution.

WAYNO.

In the late 70's I wanted a 4" stainless Security Six. I'll bet I looked at 10 at different stores and all had badly canted sights. I was patient and found a good one that I still have. Maybe a so-so run sent to the SE?

I'm not sure Ruger will service a Six Series double action. I called them about re-finishing (brushing?) a stainless Speed Six someone had polished and they said NOPE, we don't work on those any longer!
