I had several jobs out of high school. Worked at the family print shop growing up, and for a couple of years after graduating. Went to welding school, and worked for a few months in a small fabricating shop, then a few months in a larger forging plant as maintenance. Got laid off from both of those positions due to slow downs.
I eventually went to work or the USPS as a Rural Letter Carrier. Spent thirty years there before I retired a couple years ago at 56.5 years old. They paid well, but management were idiots and caused endless amounts of unnecessary stress. Hated going to work most days. I always told people that I figured half my salary was for the work I performed, the other half was to put up with the bullshit management came up with!
Now I spend my days maintaining a 130 acres, working on old trucks and tractors, and sometimes being lazy just surfing the net! ;)
