This has been a wild week. I'd expected things to get crazy as soon as the weather mellowed out but not like this. In December 2020, we bought a new(er) self propelled sprayer from a dealer in Western Kansas. I stopped to check it out on the way home from the NM elk hunt. We then sold our older sprayer to another farmer in Illinois. Also in December, I bought a different grain cart and ended up selling my previous "too big for me" grain cart to a guy from east central MO.
The trucker informed us the weather and roads were clear and he was delivering the sprayer. That was Tuesday so starting at 5 AM Wed morning while the mud was still frozen, I was moving stuff to access the grain cart. In the process, I brought my dump truck out to the driveway. We unloaded the sprayer, loaded the grain cart, and sent the truck out at dark Wednesday. Since the truck was now out and useable, I checked with a guy who had some giant mining machine tire sidewall he wanted hauled away. Sure, bring your truck and we'll haul some. Yesterday at 7AM I was on the road with the dump truck and hauled 5 loads. Midafternoon, I get a call that the guy who had bought a salvage travel trailer I'd listed wanted to pick it up today. Then later Son texted that the trucker was going to be back for the old sprayer this morning. When I woke up this morning, there was a message from Grouch Attack that the truck was sitting at the end of the hard surface road waiting for us to load the old sprayer.
Tomorrow is a parts run and Birthday party and Sunday is goat moving day. GEEZ, this is getting hard to keep up with. I think I hear someone coming down the road--GOTTA GO.

But,, but,, but,, farmers have it easy. All they do is plow a little, plant & wait to harvest,, right???

Sarcasm off.

Sadly too many folks do NOT understand the HARD work involved in farming. But,, being busy,, beats the heck out of being a couch potato & watching TV all day.

It all went pretty well. Nothing got wrecked or pinched. When the guy came to pick up the old travel trailer, I already had it lifted and blocked up so the tire swap went easily. The guy commented that he glad he didn't have to do a lot of lifting and tugging since he's a disabled Veteran so I sort of carried that conversation along and yeah, he had answers that confirmed he was what he claimed. We'd agreed on a price of $100 but when he handed me the cash I refused to accept. I told him to save that $100 and add some to it so he could buy one of the guard dog puppies we're expecting about Memorial Day. I guess that was my good deed for the day.
