I just got in an Awesome new 4 cavity Mould made by Mihec. My mould is for the Keith style 44 bullets. I'll take pics later.

I'm wondering what are the best handles for these moulds and where to get them?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the Lee handles for their gang molds work. (I'm using a set bought from a guy in Canada that "work" albeit not perfect)...

Great molds aren't they?

Lee handles work with no problems.
This your first mold from Miha?
Have a couple of them and they sure are sweet!!!!

Thanks guys!

YES, these are my first mold from anyone... I guess I started off with some top quality stuff!!

The only thing I have ever cast was round balls for a 50 hawkens, way back in about 1985.

My uncle hasn't cast anything in a few years but he has all the stuff and a LOT of lead and wheel weights. He is in poor health but he said he'd like to help me get started this summer if he can handle it.

Anyway, I am looking forward to crankin out some nice bullets one of these days!

Read up over on the Cast Boolits forum.

You really need to use a hotplate to preheat these brass molds. The pot shelf won't get them hot enough and you will cast a lot of rejects getting the mold up to a good casting temperature.

Be sure to use the included mold lube very sparingly. I stay 1/8 in from the edges of the cavity so it does not migrate into the cavities and cause wrinkles.

They make beautiful bullets and you can look forward to real satisfaction!

I think I have a set of handles from the same guy in Canada and they work great with my Ballisti-cast moulds. I was very impressed with his craftmanship, but they may not fit the Mihec that well...

The pretty aluminum ferrules needed to be glued to keep from sliding around, and I actually cracked one handle cutting a "cold" sprue while the ferrule was out of place. My fault, I should have fixed it immediately, and the wood may have had a flaw in the grain structure? Anyway, I've never broken any other handles before.... :?

That said, yes they are very nicely made, perfect with my RCBS stuff, but with an MP mold they don't quite close enough in your hand by about 1/4"...Still usable though until I get a Lee set...
