Has anyone here used a bullet feeder on their Dillon?

At the gun show last weekend I bought a complete Double Alpha pistol bullet feeder. Its supposed to be for 9mm 38 Super...but I understand that works for 38/357. Has everything...price was100 bucks. Have a few 1000 38/357s to load...Any reports would be a help. He also had a new unopened Caldwell chronograph kit I bought for 20 bucks... Midway is 180 dollars,,,any good? Gotta be better than a Chrony. Didn't need it so will give it to a friend

The Caldwell is basically a Chrony with a different chassis and label. Nothing wrong with a Chrony either, I still use one.

I received a Dillon brand bullet feeder for my Birthday some months ago. I enjoy mine! I've not tried a Double Alpha one. But you got a great deal at $100 for it!

Many chronographs have tanked in value since the Garmin units came out. My buddy has a basically new Caldwell one,,, and we set it up to test it out. And I put out my Garmin as well. Since his Caldwell didn't have a feature to record data,, he would write down the results as I fired his rifle. His Caldwell just stopped working,, and the Garmin made the whole affair VERY easy. He went & bought a Garmin.
I also have an Older Ohler 35P chrono. Works great. But it hasn't been assembled since I got the Garmin.

You are 100% correct. The 9mm/38 Super bullet feeder die and feed tube system works perfectly for .38 Special/.357 Magnum. The reason is the bullet base diameter. Both 9mm and .38 caliber lead bullets have a base diameter right around .355" - .357". The feeder doesn't care about the nose profile or length; it's all about that base fitting into the collator and sliding down the tube.

Just a question...I thought most of these bullet feeders are not supposed to be used with cast lead bullets...I have thousands...probably ok with coated bullets though.. . I've got my 750 set up in 38 now...finally. I was at an auction and bought 2 boxes of 2000 Remington 158 gr SJHP...CHEAP!... Sold a 1000 and got my money back....but would like to use some of those lead bullets too. I have to get the feeder set up now...BTW.if the docs ask if you want the flu shot...tell 'em you'll take type A

I've not run any cast & lubed bullets through my Dillon bullet feeder. I do run my powder coated & jacketed ones through it though.

I use a Roberts bullet feeder (custom) with Hornady bullet drop dies. On the .453" PC cast l ended up using a LEE die which with a little polishing works where the Hornady works with .451-.452 for 45 ACP but the 45 Colt bullets hung up. Touchy where the LEE isn't.
