Hi all,

I recently had a cardiac issue and started to think it was time for me to make my bucket list gun. I was thinking of a blue super blackhawk either 4-5/8 or 5.5 with the stainless steel grip frame from a 7-1/2. I was hoping someone might have done something similar and could share pictures before I order everything.

Thanks,
Luis

Bowen steel rear sight, and lanyard ring. Wolff springs. Trigger, cone, and crown of course.
A plastic bead non glare finish.
Call Gary Reeder for caliber options.
What was the question?

I'll see if I can get a picture up of the one I have. Here you go,, if my link works.

Good,,, it worked. While this is a Bisley,, it does have the 4-5/8" barrel. I added a Bisley g/f, a stainless ERH, & a blued Belt Mtn Keith style base pin. I'm currently working on a set of American Holly grips for it.

Hope you are doing better now. I spent the last 2 years dealing with my heart issues. Still not 100% but getting back to what will be a new normal for me. It really does make you take a hard look at life

Good luck on the gun and post pics when done.

I have dreamed of such a gun. For me, I'd keep the Dragoon grip, make it a stainless, and go with a 6" barrel.

I'd like to turn this into a .327. I modified it into a true 'flat top', installed a Bisley trigger and hammer, installed the birds-head grip, and though not shown a "twodogs" front sight .

That makes me wanna do something similar with a 4 5/8" .45 convertible.

Hondo, I like the Vaquero. How do you do the gold band on the cylinder? That really came our nice.

Thank you!

It was originally a "Last Cowboy" special edition and came with the 45 Colt gold banded cyl.

I didn't like the short barrel or birds head grip which also has the gold cowboy on the flat behind the hammer. And I added the ACP cyl below the gun.

Very nice Frank!

I flat topped this old model, added steel XR3 grip frame, steel Ruger Micro rear sight, and ejector housing, cut barrel to 4 1/8", with sectioned SBH hammer. Left the frame in the white:

The 32 H&R mag is much easier to convert to 327 Fed Mag because the firing pin is already center fire and the cyl is enough longer than the 22 cyl to work for 327. After speaking with a few custom builders, they had no concerns about the 6 shot 32 H&R Mag cyl strength when reamed 1/8” deeper for the 327.

It is true that all the 'professional' 327 conversions use a longer new made cylinder that fills the cyl window with no barrel protruding thru the frame. Even though the .327 Fed Mags in the 85 Gr HP Hyrda shock and 100 gr HP loads are longer than the .32 H&R Mag chambers, the ~ .005" bar/cyl gap is sufficient for the loaded cyl to rotate w/o interference.

Super Single Six Magnum .32 H&R Mag reamed to .327 Fed Mag. Bisley hammer with modified spur, Stainless Steel grip frame, steel ejector rod housing, SBH grooved trigger w/web removed, Colt ejector rod, and free-spin cylinder pawl for ease of aligning the chambers with the loading gate.
