Breakfast discussion

If you like sardines, I found the best sardines at Walmart. They come in a 5"round can that is about 1" thick with a clear plastic seal (so you can see the sardines in the can). They are SMOKED and delicious. Once a month I get the craze to eat them at room temp and right out of the can.
I will look for them.

If you like the smoke flavor. Look for cans marked kippers.

Kippers are always smoked size varies, but always smoked.

I have been known to make a hash and eggs breakfast from left-over corned beef and cabbage/potatoes dinner. The guys at hunting camp sometimes fry a patty from left-over Jambalaya and fried eggs.

More often than not I just have coffee and I don't eat breakfast unless I'm at the girlfriend's house then it's simple, and one of the following.

Scrambled eggs, toast and coffee
Fresh waffles and coffee
Poached eggs over toast and coffee
Fried egg on an everything bagel (to go from Dunkin) and coffee

After that we feed the wild Mexican ducks which for now are safe from ICE deportation proceedings

At home I rarely have Oatmeal, Maypo (getting hard to find), Cream of Rice or wheat, poached / scrambled eggs and coffee

Every month or so I make Spam and egg with toast. I have a wire slicer (I think it's for cheese but works perfectly for Spam). It cuts the Spam in 1/4" slices and I fry 4 slices for two sandwiches till lightly brown on both sides. Two slices on lightly toasted bread with real mayonnaise, a lettus leaf and a slice of tomato. Cant be beat. The leftover Spam is put back in the slicer to make strips and then cut into small 1/4" squares for scrambled eggs the next morning. I like the teriyaki, hickory, bacon, and Korean BBQ flavors of Spam.
An SLT, instead of a BLT! Sounds good---I've been staring at a couple of cans of Spam I dug out from the survival supplies---I'll make some later...!

I would have to be on verge of starvation before I eat 'raw' Spam. BUT when you slice it up and fry it and on that last flip put slab red rine cheese on it, 😋😋😋😋😋😋

The other day I found a can of Spam. First day I cubed some up and fried it with eggs.

Second day I made my Mom’s favorite sandwich. Cold spam slices butter on the bread. Not my favorite, but it did remind me of Mom.

Third day, I made a hot Ruben sandwich. Grilled spam, melted swiss cheese, sauerkraut mustard and onions. Pretty good.

But I don’t think I’ll buy another can of Spam anytime soon.

I have both in my pantry right now. Kippers are great. Sometimes I will put a little Cajun shake on them. I've never had them for breakfast, though.
Breakfast is whatever I feel like usually. Cinnamon raisin Bagel, peanut butter and honey is always good.
Eggs and cheese toast if I feel industrious. Buttered toast if I don't have cheese, and whatever kind of jelly or preserves I have.
Or, bread with sliced ham, sliced tomato and cheese toasted in the oven.
Or pizza, chili dogs or Krystal's if I have leftovers.
And coffee, always coffee.

On a warm summer weekend I like to start with hard Arnold Palmer or Twisted Tea on ice followed by some nice IPA's
