I have 2 boxes from 1979-1985 era still in very good or better condition and wonder if they have any value as collectible items. No extras-just the box.
1. Ruger Security Six, RDA 32, .357 magnum. Red & Black with "hinged top" marked Newport, RI. Dates 1979 or 1980.
2. Ruger Single Six SSM, SSM-4, .32 H&R magnum. Yellow & Black with "hinged top" marked Southport, Conn. Dates 1985-86.

Thanks for any input. Tim

the newer model ,one piece, fold up boxes usually run in the $25 to $35 depends on the model, rareity etc...may be a slight premium, plus the shipping........
we see them at the shows in the $15-20 range, with NO shipping sleeve, so the complete "package" shipper, box and any paper work exponentially (sic) will add on...bottom line, they are worth what someone is willing to pay for them.........all too often some people will just simply "throw them away....."

had them over the years, and the most we ever got out of our SSM-4 box was $35 and the shipping....same at the gun show...................maybe today, in an auction, and if TWO bidders, with the "pucker factor"..

I'd think the SSM-4 box would be a prize to find.

Of the boxes that still had labels on them, that would definitely be one of the better ones.

Thanks guys. I've always been one of those who "simply throws them away" once I start shooting them. I have learned better since I've been a member here and now try to find them a "good home". Have found same for the SSM-4 box. Anybody need the Security Six box let me know.
