I saw a post in the want adds a long while back about a Bowen conversion
on a Blackhawk to 25-20 that was for sale
it sold pretty quick ,but I was wondering if the person that purchased it,
was happy with it and how it shot.
thanks justasoon

That was me. Yes I am pleased with the gun, and it joins several other Bowen conversions in my collection. Took some work with different powders so that the cases would not back out on fireing, tieing up the gun, and finally settled on 8.7 grs. H-110 behind an 86 gr. cast bullet. Faster powders like W-231 etc it did not like.

I've made a similar discovery. I converted a center fire single six 32 mag to 22-20. It's a shortened 25-20 to fit the .22 SS cyl length and necked down to .22 to be able to use a standard .22 SS barrel.

It likes the slower powders as well like H110 and 2400.
