I posted this elsewhere too but thought I'd share here too..

This one has been in the works for coming up on 2 1/2 years.

Bowen 5 shot .45 Colt built off a .44 Special Blackhawk.

Everything that was done to it is pretty obvious except the addition of a Clements crescent ejector rod which came out well and is a nice touch.

Ivory grips Roy Fishpaw. These are the most beautiful grips I personally have ever seen. Perfect in every way, including not being perfect.

I just can't say enough about Roy's work.

Like many here I've had my share of really special custom (and stock) revolvers but I think my taste and preferences are finally becoming clearer and clearer.

Beautiful piece of shooting artwork Greg! Did this one just come home? I like the light weight work Hamilton did to that one. It looks real similar to the old model 41 with Dall sheep grips by Roy that Hamilton did for me years ago. Right down to the lanyard ring and scallops. You know where to send it when you get tired of it!

Greg,
That's exceptional! More and more, I keep finding myself appreciating the 5 shot, mid-framed 45's. Enjoy it!

Yeh, got here right before my oryx hunt. I need to go shoot it before the weather turns.

Tim, that gun I sold you is certainly the inspiration for this build. These 5 shot mid-frame guns just seem to suit me and my purpose for carrying a handgun the best.

Thought it looked kinda familiar....

Like the scalloping though!

That is spectacular work and I'm sure will provide years of service and serious pride in ownership.

What is the dark circle that looks like a third pin on the left side of the revolver. At cirst glance i thought it was a 3 screw.

Joe, that third fire blue pin on the left side is the pin or screw that holds a fitted block that keeps the bolt from moving side to side. It is a feature used to tighten up the action and allow for greater accuracy on many custom revolvers.

That one is as fine as they come Greg. Best looking stainless build I've seen that I can recall period, at least for my taste. I'm glad that grip frame works for you, cus the whole package just looks flat out bad, and it obviously doesn't just look that way, it is, and so's the chambering. I'd really like to see how it feels in my hand with Roy's stocks instead of the factory ones, cus I absolutely love it :!:

One of the best looking sixguns I have ever seen. Really nice and I'd bet well worth the wait. I remember years ago ina issue of shooting times I think it was they featured a Redhawk conversion from Bowen called the 50 special I think it was man I fell in love with his work then and there.

Geez, that is just sweet. I love, love, love the screws! Such a wonderful contrast!
