Does anyone have a Boddington series #1 rifle and how do you like it?
Did ruger only make a couple in 450Nitro elephant?I have not seen any for sale in this caliber...at all no where...what's up with that?
The 450/400 Buffalo seems to available, what do you guys think of this round?

There were 250 of the Elephants in .450 Nitro Express, same as the number for each of the other rifles in the series. The other 4 calibers of the Boddington series have all been made before in the No.1. The Boddington Elephant is the only is the only time the .450 NE has been chambered, so there aren't many of them around!

I had a 450/400, but it was an overrun, not a Boddington. Have a .300 H&H that IS a Boddington. Have never seen a 450NE for sale that I can recall, but the run was pretty small, after all.

I looked at one of the Boddington series .300 H&H rifles and was very disappointed. Supposed to be a premium rifle with a price tag to match, it looked like an economy version that should be sold at Wal_mart.

I have read that before (maybe an older posting of yours?) but mine is very nicely made. I would have prefered a more polished blue, but the matte blue is well done.

Some folks don't care for the appearance of the Circassian walnut used, and I will be the first to say that some examples are pretty blah. Here again, mine is a nice stick, well laid out, with decent color and grain.

It is a gamble, and on a spendy rifle like that, a feller needs to be able to examine the gun before dropping the cash.

I was wandering the fine gun room at a local Cabelas and came across at Leopard 7x57 model. The matte finish bothered me at first but I have grown to love it. Fit and finish on mine is outstanding IMHO. I paid what they were asking which was full MSRP. Happy to have it. Shoots an inch at 100 yards and really likes the heaver bullets. It is a keeper.

I've got a .450 NE Elephant and I like it just fine. The only caveat is that the sights are not nearly as nice as those on my .416 Rigby or the .458 WM.

It will be in the family long after I'm worm dirt.

I've seen three or four of the .450 NE's for sale on gunbroker over the last few months. They aren't common, but they do pop up for sale - there have been at least two in the last month.

My local shop has two of them, although its in the full set and he isn't breaking them up. That is good because one set is serial number 3.

I have one of the 450NE rifles. It's number 177. I have only shot it about a dozen times, but I like the thing other than it's light weight. It recoils pretty hard at only 7.5 pounds......that's with 112gr of H4831 behind a 500 grain Hornady RN.
