Does anyone who owns one of these actually shoot 9mm thru it? I reload 357 and 38 sp. for just a tad more than 9mm costs on sale. Just wondering! :)

I have two NM .357/9mm convertibles, a Flattop and a fullsize Blackhawk.

I shoot 9mm almost exclusively thru these revolvers.

They both shoot extremely well with 9mm, except the Flattop has a way-too-tall front sight. A very tight group, but nowhere near point of aim even with the rear sight adjusted to its extreme. .357 shoots slightly closer to point of aim, but still too far off to make the sights usable. An issue known by Ruger, but they'll be happy to send me the correct sight. Another Monday or Friday gun, where the monkeys at Ruger weren't all that concerned with QC.

WAYNO.

I've shot a few 9's through mine, same problem with the sights. They're right on with 357 magnums. The 9mm cylinder allows non reloaders to shoot store bought inexpensive 9's where they may not can afford 38's or 357's. Bob!!! :D

Nothing spectacular.

That's the way I felt about a 6-1/2" barreled OM Convertable that I once had.
It was an OK gun...but it didn't take me very long to decide that I realy didn't have a practical use for the 9MM aspect. .

I reload with 147gr 9mm so point of aim is nearly the same as the 158gr 38 special and 357 loads I use. Since I reload, I usually shoot 357 with plated bullets, but I usually have more 9mm rounds on had so I shoot them when low on 357.

I have a Flat top and a standard in .357/9mm and I've shot 9mm in both. I keep bulk 9mm around for my Glock since I've never enjoyed reloading it. When I'm too lazy to load up .357 and want to go shooting I just grab some of the Glock food. The flat top shoots the 9mm very well but mine also has the too tall sight issue.

Not meaning to hijack this thread, but it seems everyone's Flat top has the way too tall front sight. Mine did as well and I sent it back to Ruger on their dime for replacement. The old sight was about 0.410" high, the replacement is 0.367". Shoots POA now.

I shot 6 rounds of 9mm in mine. Went bang. Cylinder works... Then went back to the .357 cylinder for good. Well, I might work up some 9mm lead bullets down the road if I ever get the gumpshin' to do so... Mine (which is blued) had the tall front sight. No biggie. Just filed the front sight down until POA = POI :) .
