need some technical advice...................

what Ruger pistols/frames will the 9mm Blackhawk conversion cylinder fit ?

can it be fitted to Old Model Vaquero 357 frame???

OR after viewing topics..... better to have an OMV cylinder converted to 9mm ?

thanks for any information and........ :?: :!:

I would suggest contacting Ruger. I'm sure they could have one fitted to it for a nominal fee! Good Luck!

Colonel Darlin welcome to the forum. There are many posts on that subject.
Old Model 9mm cylinder fit Old Model guns some fitting maybe required some drop right in place.
New Model large frame 9mm cylinders fit New Model large frame guns both Blackhawk and Vaquero. Some fitting may be required some may drop right in place.
New Model medium frame 9mm cylinders fit in the new medium frame Blackhawk and Vaqueros. These are the newest an hardest to find a cylinder for. Fastest way to get a cylinder for one would probably be buy a new gun.
Find a cylinder that matches your 357 cylinder overall length rachets to gas ring maybe a little longer for fitting, easier to take away than add.
If you doubt your ability to fit a cylinder have a gunsmith do the fitting.
If the gun was available with a 9mm cylinder as an accessory the factory will fit one if the model is still in production.

Welcome to the Forum!
First, lets start out by making sure you do not get confused by terminology.
There are not ANY Old Model Vaqueros, (at least not by the factory.) There are only Vaqueros, and New Vaqueros. A true Old Model is a SA revolver made by Ruger prior to 1973. It'll not be sporting the safety transfer bar action design.
So, when you start looking at a 9mm cylinder, you MUST specify it's for a New Model. The Vaquero is a NM. (That's what you are calling an OMV.)
Next, if you have a 357 Vaquero, and want a 9mm cylinder, then it's very possible to add one from a NM Blackhawk. The frames are the same.
I would get one that the OAL is the same or slightly longer than my current cylinder and have it fitted by a gunsmith. A gunsmith can check for proper timing, and clearance. A too short of a cylinder can be a problem.

What Contender said.

Ruger COULD fit a 9mm cylinder to a Vaquero, but they won't create a model not in the catalog. 9mm cylinders pop up on Gunbroker regularly (see this auction). As said, it might just drop in, if you're lucky.
