Blackhawk .357 and 9mm ammo suggestions

Hey there everyone. I recently got my first single-action pistol (NM Blackhawk) the other day and I'm looking for suggestions on what type of ammo (.357 and 9mm) to use. I obviously don't want to break the bank but I'm don't want any cheapy cheapy stuff either. I know this is a very broad question but any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks for all your help.

My experience is the my Blackhawks eats most any ammo.
Mine don't seem to like the steel-cased 9 mm though.
The cases appear to swell and are difficult to eject.

Couldnt agree more.... Steel case stuff can be a little sticky getting out. Dont want to break the bank shoot .38s and 9mm. You want the gun to shoot to its.protential, shoot .357.

The .38s & 9mm will not be as accurate, but still.good.enough for cheap shooting and hitting cans and whatnot.

I've got a goodly share of Blackhawks, and my .357/9mm convertible is my most accurate, with either ammo. Go figure.

It shoots the Winchester White Box/Remington UMC 115 grainers as good as anything else that I've paid a whole lot more for.

So...I would tailor the ammo for the need, see if it shoots well, and don't look back.

My convertible shoots the Lee 125rnfp sized .358 over power pistol very well in 9mm brass.

Mine really likes 158gr. SWC cast boolits. The most cost-effective route would be to start hand loading. Start with .38, it's easy to learn and easy to find components for.

Mine shoots about any 38/357 well. I shoot mostly 158 RNFP and SWC handloads. 9mm is not as accuriate as the 38/357 but still good enough. I use 115 and 124 factory JHP in 9mm.

On steel case ammo (like Wolf) Stay away from that stuff. Not the best for revolvers, the cases swell. Had a friend shot one cylnder through a double action. Had to use a screw driver from the front to get them out. (we used that because didn't want to hit the ejector rod with a hammer (which we had to do they were that stuck) for obvious reasons.
