I've found a couple of places that have limited amounts of powder appropriate for loading my magnum revolvers--but they want want 35 to 43 dollars per 1 lb keg. Since i"m very low on 110/296 I'm thinking I'm going to have to bite the bullet and just do it. Hunting season is over and there's lots of snow on the ground--but I usually shoot several times a week. Either I pay up or stop shooting. What would you do?

Widen your options ? Maybe add AA#9, IMR4227, 2400, to the shopping list.

4227 I found about 100 miles away for $35 a pound--probably what I have to do.

Pistol powder is running about $28 - $32 a pound around here, when it is in stock. That is only occasionally. Rifle powder is about the same, except there is always something on the shelf. We have a new chain in the area. They have rifle powder in stock. Running $22 - $25 a pound. No pistol powder on the shelf, but when it arrives, I expect to see prices in line with their rifle powder. Primers in the mid $30s per K. Bad news, for me, new store is almost an hour drive. Other store is 5 minutes. Stop by the new store when I happen to be in the area.
