Have had some luck lately in the land of recovered property.

Several computers, TV's, power tools etc.

Also recovered a Ruger 10-22 rifle last week and a Ruger Single Six this week.

It's a good feeling to get property back to the rightful owner, that Rugers are involved is just that much nicer.

It must be a gratifying experience to be able to get victims their possessions back. Well done to you and compliments to your department.

Michael: I know guns are important but I would bet some of those power tools were very appreciated. Can't buy a Ruger without the money made from those tools. Thanks for your diligence. A good set of Milwaukee/Makita/DeWalt cordless tools are quite expensive and needed in many professions.

Thanks

Karl

coach,

In order for me to locate property, I need a good description that includes the serial number if one exists. The next important item is the suspect and associates.

Remember, we are interested in solving the crime and presenting the individual to the court for prosecution, property recovery is secondary. Not to discount it's importance, but we represent the state in dealing with the offense and that involves people.

If a serial number is not possible, then I need the very best description that will uniquely identify the property for the rightful owner and no one else. This can be done by markings, scratches, broken parts, replacements etc.

Please remember, I must satisfy a court of the ownership of the property. Many times I have had citizens upset because they swear the property is theirs. I have to tell them "That looks like mine" will not cut it in court.

I hope you find this helpful.
