Ballpark figure for Flagate single six?

Found a Single Six, flatgate with 1955 birthday. Good overall shape just trying to figure out if the 2 hour drive is worth it.


Working on more details but trying to get an idea.

Is it a Type 2 or Type 3? probably not a Type 1 Price anywhere from $250-$550

Yeah i know, its said to be as 90+%. But dont want to go on their word, waiting to see pictures. Itll be my first old model, and first flat gate if things were to work out.

it may not make somebody else happy but i am ;

i paid $425 shipped for 1955 "plum" flat latch;

it has a small amnt wear near end of brl & it goes good with my 1956 model ............ randy

p.s. as u can see by my few post I'm a new collector so i may have paid more than most but i am good with it

A 2 hour drive? Heck, I look at 'em all... I've been very pleasantly surprised when I thought I was looking at a so-so piece based on photos only to find it to be something special in person. Can't see the photos in this case, but IMO any flatgate is worth a 2 hour drive for that money.
