Bag or Hard case with 10/22 TD?

What determines whether you get a bag or a hard shell case with your 10/22? I've seen both. Better protection with the hard shell case, but a lot more storage in the soft bag.

joe, the only hardcase for the takedown i have seen has been for the marine td.all others have been a bag

If you're going to fly with it, a hard case, otherwise the soft case will do.

I've been thinking about getting a TD but I would rather not advertise it's presence as it travels around with me. All of the cases seem to either be some glaring color or have a NRA or Ruger or USA Shooting Team emblems on them. I like the soft case....are there any available in lets just say, subdued themes?

They have access to all of your data so I ain't worried bout them folks. I ride a motorcycle with a sidecar. So being able to strap a long gun aboard is very doable. I am always looking for new ways to keep my "status" on the down low. :idea:
