I thinking its WAY WAY PAST TIME to start charging the NFL Income taxes and for TAXPAYERS to QUIT getting stuck to build stadiums for them where they rake in the majority of the money.

It continually saddens me that it seems some here have either never read the Constitution, or if they have they have failed to understand plain English. Most here do understand "freedom of speech" but as usual the few who support the Democrat Agenda use lies to define "freedom of Speech" as the right for them to destroy our actual rights.

The only place in the Constitution where "freedom of speech" is mentioned is Amendment I. "Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of speech...".

Congress has made no law abridging the freedom of speech. Furthermore, neither Congress or any place in the Constitution, is "freedom of speech" defined as "the right" to slander our country with disrespect, disrespect our flag, damage the reputation of an employer or business, slander and insult millions of patriotic Americans, dishonor the millions of Americans who have given their all for liberty, support anarchy, attempt to destroy liberty, promote riots, promote destruction of private or public property, promote the murder of Americans including police officers, attempt to prevent freedom of speech by anyone that is a patriot American, deliberately use the lie that anyone, including our President, is a racist for calling the traitors what they are, use false "freedom of speech" as an agenda intending to destroy the United States of America.

It's time for all patriotic Americans to stand up for America and send the traitors into the dust bin on history.

The team owners are the direct employers, and by allowing open disrespect of the flag and our nation they are showing that they share, or at least do not oppose the display of such disrespect. Buying the products of the sponsors of the NFL supports those owners, as does buying sports clothing and other paraphernalia of the NFL. Beer seems to be the biggest category of products sponsoring the NFL, and whether I like it for not, due to my gout and my kidney issues, beer is a no go for me anymore. And I have never bought an item of NFL clothing or other junk. So its easy for me to not show support. That said, I have been a somewhat casual Packers fan for the last several decades, and its a hard habit to break. So I do watch them on TV, sort of. I have not watched this year and with all of the player's grandstanding I am inclined to just skip the whole season. If any of the Packers were open with disrespect for the country, and if management allowed it, then I surely will not even watch it on TV, but to my knowledge this behavior has not yet infected my Packers.

I gave up on NFL awhile ago. I think the last Super Bowl I watched was early 2000 or 2001. I won't contribute to idiots so they can make millions playing a game... and then act like morons in public (and on the field).

Let them play their own sandlot games in the hood.

As I stated in a similar post ever since that idiot from SF took a knee and started the trend to disrespect our country as gave up the NFL. I used really enjoy watching it but they lost me as a consumer of their product. I also try to avoid any product that gets their support.

I wonder how a player would feel if he was told by the coach that he was the fastest, most agile guy on the team and he could tackle the best and hardest, could pass better than the star q-back, and could kick 70 yard FG's all day, but he just is no good at catching a pass, so pack your stuff, you're outta here, we hate you! Well, that's just exactly what the nfl did to the whole country. By not respecting the flag they just told ALL of us to go to hell! I can honestly say, 100%, no. And I have not for at least 25 years. And this was after having season tix to an NFL franchise for over 20 years before that.

Obviously there was no National Anthem issues then.

My issue is I believe in Capitalism. And I started seeing case after case of these Super rich team owners being subsidized by the taxpayers for new facilities, bribes not to move their team and junk like that.

I kept hearing this "but they are good for the local economy" junk. Well guess what, Francis. That is true of EVERY honest business owner in the same city and those entrepreneurs received ZERO taxpayer funds. They risked, worked, hire, innovated and provided jobs like our Capitalistic system calls for.

Not me. I've never been a sports fan accept for some of the shooting sports,hunting and guns in general. If a game appears on my TV it was by mistake and doesn't stay there long.
When the kids come up if they want to watch any game they go in the basement. I haven't watched a Super Bowl in probably 25-30 years. It does nothing for this old man and really never has even in my younger days.

If these so called Pros think they are to good to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance then they should removed. That's very offensive to us Americans.
As for the Confederate flag and Confederate statues being offensive. To me the M.L.K statues are and should be removed. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. You can't change history but some people can't understand that.

Before that I gave up on MLB; because Pepsi costs $5 a can, at a game, and something is broken. I have been made a fool of enough times in my life.

Words almost got heated the other night, having coffee and dessert with a buddy who insisted it is. I had to bite my tongue as he kept arguing while I explained it's no more than a simple employer-employee problem based on what company policy is. If the boss wants to say "You will all stand, remove your headgear, and face the flag during the playing of the National Anthem," his word's "law" as long as his players are on the clock. If they want to go home and burn a flag on their front yard in protest of what a sonofagun he is, THEN the free speech issue raises its head...

It's really a simple concept...

When the camera pans over that huge number of fans, we have many

TL:DR version: Not only did the anthem protests blow up in the Steelers' face, but now the players are feuding with the coaches and each other over whether or not to take a knee.

Just flipped over to the kickoff of Steelers-Ravens out of morbid curiosity. They're playing in Baltimore, not Pittsburgh, and C-BS is taking pains to limit crowd shots, but there do seem to be a bunch of empty seats for what should be one of the week's biggest games.

EDITED to include: Looks like the players on both teams all stood for the anthem, but linked arms and took a knee beforehand in support of equality and justice and etc . . . and were loudly booed by the fans when they did so. A bunch of Ravens fans were also waving American flags the whole time as well. Good for them.
