I am thinking of getting one to shoot. Does anyone have one they have shot that they wish to share any information on?

Thanks

Louie

I have shot the 32 H&R Birdshead Single-Six.

thank you sir. I already read your article and was impressed with your load results. I like and use Unique primarily and won't get those results, but it is nice to know what is possible.

I was looking for a second perspective.

Now that I have your attention, I would like to ask if those grips are wood or synthetic?

Thanks

The grips are Ebony and I will definitely be shooting mine. I got to get dies, bullets and brass.

I think Jeff might have been thinking about the Micarta grips on the Blackbirds.

Maybe Boge will chime in.

I have not removed mine from the gun, but they appear to me to be checkered synthetic of some sort; probably micarta. They don't look like wood to me, but I will take them off and look at the inside to check for wood grain.

Thanks

I have only fired 25 rounds of 32 acp through it just to make sure it went bang. It does. It is shooting high, and I am hoping that is due to the goofy ammo. I notice it has a lower front sight than my 4 5/8" Single Six fixed sight just about like it, and I would not think 7/8" of barrel length would call for a lower front sight. My 4 5/8" shoots just about to point of aim and I hope I can get the short one squared away. I really like it but IT NEEDS TO SHOOT PROPERLY for me to be happy with it.

We will see when the rain stops and I can get out there with some full power ammo in it.
