Ale-8(1)and Greebe about the realationship of the cylinder ratchet cuts and the cylinder bolt notches is 30 deg. Remove the cylinder from your Blackhawk revolver and hold the ratchet facing you. Position one cylinder hole at 12 O'clock or 0. You will notice at 90deg and 270deg,or 3 O'clock and 9 O'clock, two of the ratchet cuts are horizontaly in line with each other. You will also notice that the face of the cut(non angle surface) is offset up at 3 O'clock and down at 9 O'clock. This offset from the center line of the cylinder would have to be measured. you would also have to measure the angle behind the face cut to tilt the cylinder so as to allow cutting the face and angle at the same time. You will also notice at this posion the cylinder bolt cut is at 0 or 12 O'clock but off center of the cylinder.This offset would also have to be measured. Now look at the six ratchet cuts.They all point directly between the cylinder holes even though they are off center, making them 30 deg in relationship to the cilinder bolt cuts.
