Another scope fit question

I have a Mini 14 patrol rifle 5820 and a Nikon Prostaff 2x-7x 32mm scope. Should I go with the low or medium Ruger scope rings . I would really like a see-thru set but I see that most do not work on the mini 14's without some not so cool modifications. I do not want an offset mount - had one, don't like them. Any see-thru mounts out there that are a simple "bolt on" Any help would be appreciated.

Mine came with high rings. Being a novice with Rugers other than handguns, I used them, not knowing that Ruger would swap new for new. I have been considering using a tight line to see if drilling the highs for see through is feasible. The hole(s) would need to clear the cross bolt through the rings??? jack
