Reportedly a Lear Jet on a medical evacuation flight from Philly to Springfield, MO. It had just taken off from the Philly airport when it just . . . caught fire and went straight into the ground at speed.

Update: Words fail.

Reportedly hit a shopping mall. Shops and homes and cars on fire, right now, live on Fox.

EDIT: It's said the plane hit on or near Roosevelt Mall in northeast Philadelphia. Anyone familiar with the area?
That is a densely populated area in northeast Philly, I can't imagine the destruction caused by a freshly fueled jet.

According to the Daily Mail there were six aboard. A young patient with a family member and four crew members.
My condolences to the family members of those who have been effected by this tragedy.

I believe the aircraft was knocked out of the air, either by hitting something or an onboard explosion.

There is one piece of video, the one where you see a guy coming out of his front door, then rushing back in, where you see a flash in the sky, then the aircraft streaking toward the ground and the large fireball erupts. I believe that flash is either an impact or explosion, and that that is the cause of the crash.

yessir the pictures we saw seemed like it was going down ( and fast) in a burst of flames, much like a missle coming in,,,,hhhmmm so sad, looks like it hit in the middle of the street...............wow, again , and so soon .......very sad:(

What happens when a Learjet is fueled with Av gas?

A Life Flight plane crashed shortly after takeoff here some years ago, and as I remember, it attributed to misfueling.

I saw a pilot (Captain Steeeve) on YouTube commenting that he thought it looked like the plane stalled. That it looked to him that one wing went over and straight into the ground. At about 500 feet there was no time to recover.

im not starting a fight here! Just pointing out the obvious comparison. 67 dead and then 7 more dead two days later from two awful plane crashes. for total of 74.....BUT in 2024 we had 117K dead from ODing JUST from fentenyal in 2022, that's 230.5 a day...look at the difference in the response. it's shocking that this happens. I guess if planes fell out of the sky every day for 365 days with 230 on board, totaling 117K folks, someone would notice this tragedy. F-ing OUTRAGEOUS!

The difference is the Fentanyl users had a choice. And they did not choose wisely.

yes, they took the chance ,made bad choices, and paid the consecquences BUT it really matters is the reaction of the rest of us, the people s indifference to the actual "death" and dying..........but what Mr D points out is the truth sadly, the, to me, total indifference of the population, same with car accidents so many, TOO many dies everyday after day, and now here it is hardly anything on any "news" channels of the whys and wherefores, and folks still living in tents and trailers along the side of the "leftover" roads in N Carolina from the remnants of that hurricane......help them ALL Lord......:(🙏
