The post about the Amish farmer and a comment that the Amish don't vote because they don't want to give out their personal information got me to thinking...

I go out of town every September to a long weekend business gathering... at a place on Lake Murray down near Columbia S.C. We basically camp out... build an outside kitchen and feed about 80-90 folks for 4 days.. educational seminars are mixed in and also while their we have a little machine gun shoot as well as other 'normal' weapons and even some explosions. Last year before I went my wife made me write out a new will and go down to the bank and have it witnessed and notarized.
I'm prepping to go back in a few weeks and yesterday 'she who must be obeyed' took me down to a mortuary and had me sign up to be cremated. In this process you basically have to fill out your death certificate and give them all your information... not only ss# but where you were born and your parents names and more....

I'd be pretty careful around that woman.
If she had you sign a organ donor card, then I'd worry.

I won't do it because that makes me more worth killing or trying not so hard to save. Also why I never had much life insurance. When in military, had a talk with a financial adviser who was actually doing a good job for us. I drew the line when he advised getting a $500k insurance policy in addition to SGLI. I looked at wife and said I'd get her just enough to pay off the house and live for a year. That would give her time to get a better job and a rich husband. I love that woman, but you don't want to tempt anyone thaaat much.

I signed the 'unplug me when needed' form a number of years ago. My saving grace is I ain't worth killing... had to reduce my life insurance a few years back when I turned 55 and I got too much stuff (junk) that she would have to deal with if I go.

Of course... but it is a drive from Vermont... then again two weeks after this Gathering you could swing up to our East Coast Ruger Forum meet in N.C. Both are highlights of my year.... but I have to work for 5 days at the first one... I have to set up the outside kitchen and then I also help with the machine gun shoot and the safety seminar before this as well as the benefit auction .....
