Amusing reminder of aging

I've never been to any of the reunions. If I wanted contact with folks from high school I still have it. The others still aren't worth my time.

Now don't get me wrong. I still see quite a few regularly. In many ways this is still a small town. Not uncommon at all to see folks you know while shopping or eating out.

At my 55th reunion the print on the name tags was so small I couldn't read them unless I got uncomfortably close to them. Pretty awkward trying to pretend you recognize them or remember their names after 55 yrs.
I truthfully plead chemo brain in situations like that. I had it in 2017 and it fried me in more ways than one.

i was like you once and felt like reunion was a waste of time but i decide to give it a try one time we i had the best time of my life. i was a kid again and we were doing all the thing we use to as boys.

At our town community woodpile I met a guy who inspired me a couple years ago. An old timer half my size cutting and splitting with sledge & wedges very large pieces of heavy wood and carrying them to his truck. I offered to cut the wood smaller and started helping him load his truck. When we got done and his truck was full he said, "I guess you gave me a birthday present today." Happy b-day I said, how old are you today. 88 years old. I saw him again a couple days ago at 90yrs old cutting, splitting & loading his truck still. He used to own a small company that did concrete foundation work which kept him in shape. Told him he inspires me at 75yrs old.

I worked fedex a couple christmas seasons, and they kept asking me if i was okay, did i need a break. They are not used to seeing grey hair and sweat on the same person, unloading a trailer or on the conveyor belt. They usually stationed me at the 90° turn. These kids can be SO lazy...
