A favorite - I can't even tell you how many times I've seen it, although I remember the first time was during the football strike in the '70's when they suddenly had 3-4 hour blocks of time to fill that had been allotted for games.
TCM & Fathom Events have done 2 screeenings of it in movie theaters in recent years and I went to the one in 2020 - luckily they left the intermission in as with the original release.

Do you realize that if AI was around when the movie was made he'd have been riding a llama.
Good movie.
TCM plays it fairly often. I've never seen it in the theater but it has to be fantastic. The intermission is a good idea

There was an article on WW2 surplus guns posted in an online magazine a while back. It was illustrated with AI generated "wartime photos" and there were so many weird aspects to the pictures it made me a little ill.

I have the DVD. I watch it every once in a while but I'm not in favor of overly long movies.

Way back in the early 80's we had just gotten cable and I came home from work and turned the TV on and Laurence of Arabia was just coming on so I decided to stand there and see what it was about, of course I knew it was some movie that had won awards.... I actually stood in front of the TV and watched the whole damn thing... I do think I went and relieved myself during the intermission. The movie was really made for the big screen.
I love movies but "Lawrence of Arabia" bored me to tears. It seemed like it was eight hours long. Some stunning photography of the desert, but that was about it. Almost but not quite as bad as "Chariots of Fire" which actually won the Avademy Award for best movie of that year.
I think that is the real artistic part of 'Laurence'. it was directed and filmed to be shown so that is all you see in your vision is the big wide screen... watching it on a regular TV at home even in wide screen is not the same unless you are in the mood to lock yourself in the room turn off the lights and get the correct distance from the TV. Probably also best to watch it alone and not have someone who can make comments during it.
Saw it on the big screen when it first came out. Absolutely gobsmacked. Cannot imagine seeing it on a small screen.

Lol. It's worth the time to to research if you like history. Some fiction mixed in with real story.

Speaking of, there's a book titled Lawrence in Arabia (2013) that goes into great detail about all the maneuvering going on between Britain, Arab tribes, Germany, Standard Oil and Zionists in the area that shaped the Mideast as it largely exists today. Interesting read.
I was a little ill looking at all of the Lee-Enfield No1's they used. Kick myself for not buying any in the 1980's before prices went crazy:cry:

The scene you are talking about had Omar Sharif coming in from a long long way out.
The trivia of the movie said Panavision created a brand new lense just for that shot. It has not been used since. I think it is in the motion picture museum.
Sadly you missed the point. someone, somewhere told you that the date the constitution was signed was more important than why the constitution was important. What you got locked into was rote learning

and that’s the point. Who really does care about dates, it’s what worked and what didn’t work, so you, your community and your nation can move on.
